Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS)

Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS) provides your customer with up to $1 million of increased protection should bodily injury and property damage claims be made against the customer by people injured in an accident. LIS is for all customers renting in the United States! LIS safeguards the insurance policy and/or the personal assets for the first $1 million should such claims be made against the renter. In most states, uninsured/underinsured coverage up to $1,000,000 per occurrence for combined bodily injury and/or property damage claims is available for an additional charge. This is only if you purchase LIS.

Here are some facts you should know:

• LIS provides coverage for the driver and other authorized operators of the rental vehicle for third party liability claims.
• LIS is primary protection to your personal policy and provides for the first $1,000,000** of coverage for combined bodily injury and/or property damage claims per occurrence
• In most states, Uninsured Motorist Protection (UMP) with coverage up to $1,000,000** per occurrence for combined bodily injury and/or property damage claims is available for an additional charge, but only if LIS is purchased. Uninsured Motorist Protection (UMP) is additional protection available to customers who have purchased LIS.
